Ankora

Terms of Use

Rules governing your use of the Ankora app.

Effective date: May 8, 2026

These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your use of Ankora ("the App"). The App is operated by Roman Karasev ("Developer", "we", "us"). Contact: me@romankarasev.com.

By using the App, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the App.

1. Purpose of the App

Ankora provides structured tools for decision support, self-organization, and reflection. The App may help you compare options, break down thoughts, or record outcomes.

The App does not make decisions for you. You remain responsible for your choices and actions.

2. No professional advice

The App is not medical, psychological, legal, financial, or professional advice. It is not a diagnostic or treatment tool. Do not use the App as a substitute for professional advice or emergency help.

If you feel unsafe, are in crisis, or need urgent assistance, contact local emergency services or a qualified professional.

3. License

Subject to these Terms and Apple's App Store rules, we grant you a personal, limited, non-transferable, non-exclusive license to use the App on Apple devices you own or control.

You may not copy, modify, reverse engineer, resell, sublicense, or misuse the App except where applicable law allows.

4. Optional support purchases

The App may offer optional one-time purchases that support future development:

  • Say thanks;
  • Support the project;
  • Back it strongly.

These purchases do not unlock additional functionality. All decision tools and the decision journal are available without purchase.

Purchases are processed by Apple through the App Store. Refunds, payment disputes, family sharing availability, taxes, and billing issues are handled by Apple under Apple's terms and policies.

The App does not use auto-renewable subscriptions.

5. User content and local data

You are responsible for text, options, notes, and decision records you create in the App. The App currently stores this content locally on your device.

You should not store sensitive information in the App unless you are comfortable keeping it on your device.

6. Acceptable use

You agree not to use the App:

  • for illegal activity;
  • to violate anyone's rights;
  • to disrupt, copy, or exploit the App in an unauthorized way.

7. Availability and changes

We may update, change, or remove features. Some features may depend on iOS, Apple services, StoreKit, or App Store availability.

We do not guarantee that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or suitable for every situation.

8. Disclaimer of warranties

The App is provided "as is" and "as available" to the maximum extent permitted by law. We disclaim warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement to the extent allowed by law.

Some jurisdictions do not allow certain warranty limitations, so some limitations may not apply to you.

9. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for loss of data, profits, or opportunities arising from your use of the App.

Nothing in these Terms limits liability where it cannot be limited under applicable law.

10. Termination

You may stop using the App at any time. We may suspend or terminate access if you materially violate these Terms or misuse the App.

11. Apple

Apple is not responsible for the App or its content. Your use of the App is also subject to Apple's App Store terms and applicable Apple media services terms.

12. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms. If changes are material, we will take reasonable steps to notify users through the App, the website, or App Store metadata.
