Privacy Policy

How the Ankora app handles information on your device.

This Privacy Policy explains how Ankora ("the App") handles information. The App is operated by Roman Karasev ("Developer", "we", "us"). Contact: me@romankarasev.com.

Summary

Ankora is designed to work locally on your device. The App does not use advertising SDKs, third-party analytics SDKs, user accounts, or a backend account system.

We do not sell personal information. We do not track you across apps or websites.

Information stored on your device

The App may store the following information locally on your device:

  • onboarding status;
  • theme and app settings;
  • optional support purchase status cache;
  • decision journal records;
  • decision tree content;
  • answers, options, weights, and results created while using the decision tools.

This information is stored locally using iOS storage such as SwiftData and UserDefaults. It is not sent to our server because the App currently does not operate a server for user accounts or decision records.

In-App Purchases

The App offers optional one-time support purchases through Apple's StoreKit:

  • Say thanks;
  • Support the project;
  • Back it strongly.

Apple processes payments. We do not receive or store your payment card details. These purchases do not unlock paid features; the App receives purchase status information from Apple so it can show a support acknowledgement and restore eligible purchases.

Refunds and payment issues are handled by Apple under Apple's App Store policies.

Photos permission

The App may ask for permission to add an image to your photo library if you choose to export a decision tree as an image.

The App does not need to read your photo library for this feature. The export happens only when you tap the export button.

Sharing

If you use the system share sheet, you choose what to share and with whom. The App does not automatically send your decision records to us.

App privacy details

Current intended App Store privacy declaration:

  • Data collected: No.
  • Tracking: No.
  • Third-party advertising: No.
  • Third-party analytics: No.

If we add analytics, crash reporting, cloud sync, accounts, or server features later, we will update this policy and the App Store privacy details.

Data deletion

You can delete journal data from inside the App where the App provides a clear journal option. You can also remove locally stored App data by deleting the App from your device.

Because the App currently stores decision data locally and does not operate user accounts, we generally cannot recover or delete local data remotely.

Children

The App is not directed to children. If you believe a child provided personal information to us, contact us and we will take reasonable steps to address it.

No professional advice

The App is a decision-support and self-organization tool. It is not medical, psychological, legal, financial, or professional advice. It does not diagnose, treat, prevent, or cure any condition.

Changes

We may update this Privacy Policy when the App changes or legal requirements change. The effective date above will be updated when material changes are made.
